WHY??

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Metropolitan Phoenix (BGCMP) provides structured, comprehensive after-school and summer development programs for youth in grades K-12.

Programs focus on five core areas to help children develop into confident and successful young people, and include character and leadership development; education and career development; sports, fitness, and recreation; health and life skills; and the arts.

Serving 31,600 youth last year at the BGCMP, member’s annual membership fees constitute only 1% of the total budget. All-day summer program fees result in another 4%. That’s it. Why? Because that’s all that BGCMP members can afford.

Children and families depend on the Clubs’ quality programming. As community members, we depend on the Clubs to be a place where kids are safe and off the streets. Thousands of kids have walked through BGCMP clubhouse doors and emerged a few years later confident, educated, and goodhearted.

The Today’s Kids, Tomorrow’s Stars Event, sponsored by UTI, celebrates the accomplishments and triumphant spirit of ten youth, who despite challenging circumstances, have become successful in their lives. The event also serves as the largest fundraiser for the BGCMP, raising a net revenue of $1.5 million in 2007.

Join us as we celebrate these amazing youth, and ensure the continued quality programming and mentorship that results in young adults becoming responsible citizens and realizing their individual potential.
